Course: Valuing Diversity & Promoting Equality
Duration: 1 day awareness session
Aims: The aim of this training programme is to create a safe environment where issues relating to diversity and the creation of inclusive organisations can be explored.
Course Content:
· Understanding the concept of diversity
· Exploring stereotypes
· Model of oppression
· Exploring influences which inform our perception of others.
· Impact of unfair treatment
Objectives: Following this training programme participants will be able to demonstrate that they can:-
· Identify the possible effects of unfair treatment on individuals
· Define equality and diversity
· Demonstrate and understanding of the importance of self awareness and how aspects of their own self awareness can impact how they respond to diversity situations
· Discuss the ways in which their own life experiences might contribute to stereotyping others
· Recognise the existence of inequalities within British society
